Propaganda Poster - Photo Illustration / Graphic Design
1.) Please go to this link to read about the history of design, and propaganda during the Vietnam war.
2.) Remember that your job is to persuade>
If you look at the poster above you will note that if you keep the design simple it will be more effective.
4.) Remember that color can be an effective way to covey mood, and it can be symbolic.
5.) You may use language that you have seen on a protest sign, but please make sure you say where you got the slogan.
6.) You may use a headline from a news site. The following list is divided by conservative, liberal, and balanced. You may not agree with my assessment of the news sites, which is fine. Please read about the issue prior to creating a poster. How can you have a point of view unless you understand it?
Conservative - Fox News Brietbart News, Infowars
Moderate - NPR BBC CNN
Liberal - MSNBC Huffington Post Vox
7.) You can choose to create a poster from a point of view that you don't agree with. This is about your ability to think visually about an issue.
8.) You can use parts of images that you find on the internet, but make sure you give credit to the individual that created the image. You may only use 40% or less of another artists work..
10.) The issues you choose should not be meaningless.... what I mean by that is that our goal is not to promote your favorite football team, or fast food restaurant. This is your chance to rant people... ENJOY IT!
